Do you find yourself wondering.....What the heck is a ZZZ?  How do I make one? Why would I want to?

Don't fret, over the eons many a noted sage has asked the very same questions.

Please read Miscellaneous System Configuration Items (ZZZ)!

Introduction

Oregon Corporate Activity Tax (CAT)

This is a tax on the warehouse business itself. And would apply to any business in OR. The warehouse is asking us to help simply pass this extra operating cost through to the customer.  We are being asked to charge an additional % of any invoice total. For example, an invoice is being generated for $100 we are being asked to charge an extra 0.45% on that total. So the invoice would get a line item for $0.45. Bringing the invoice total to $100.45

The CAT is imposed on businesses for the privilege of doing business in this state. It is measured on a business's commercial activity, which is the total amount a business realizes from transactions and activity in Oregon.

--When is a sales tax not a sales tax? When it's in Oregon...😉

The feature works with generated warehouse activity invoices or manual Invoice batches (CRs or DRs) created via ARTPM.EDC.  CAT Tax passthrough line item will be added after running ARTPM.LCR.

Any CAT passthrough charged to the customer is itself subject to CAT.

The CAT is imposed on the entity doing business in Oregon and is considered part of the business's expenses. A business may include the CAT with other business expenses when setting the total price charged to customers. However, the total price charged (including any amount estimated to be attributable to the CAT) is included in the business's commercial activity.
