Uploading a Button Spreadsheet

After you have made the necessary changes to your button spreadsheet, see Touchscreen Button Spreadsheet Programming for tips, you will need to upload the spreadsheet into AMS for the registers to recognize the updated button layout.

Save the spreadsheet.

Save spreadsheet, but leave it open

After saving your updated spreadsheet (File/Save or Control-S), keep it open.  It will be easier, more efficient, and faster to test your changes and make modifications iteratively than opening and closing your spreadsheet.  In the past, the spreadsheet did need to be closed for it to be uploaded.  That's been changed. Now, you can just leave it open.  Just be sure to save it before uploading.

Sign in to the register. If you are already in the register, back out of the register to the batch screen.

Select the tan button- Import Buttons.

Don't see the button?

The Clerk ID you're signed into the register needs to have permission to Import Buttons.  If you don't see the tan Import Buttons control, check with your AMS Administrator.  Your Clerk ID will need permission to "Change Prior Batches" as shown below.

You will be prompted with a question if you want to destroy existing buttons. Don't panic about the word "destroy", it's ok.

Make sure the button set id and room/register combination you listed are those you intended to update. All registers in that room with the selected button set code will be updated, regardless of the register you are logged in to.

Select yes and you will be prompted to browse for your button spreadsheet on your local computer.

Double click on the file or select the file and click open, both end with the same result.

Make sure you see the below message on the screen noting your spreadsheet was successfully uploaded.
