Will Call Pickup Shipping Code

The point of sale system allows for orders to be rung through as will call or pickup orders. This is designated by a separate shipping code flagged as will call. This flag notifies the system to charge the local sales tax rate for where the order will be picked up, determined based on the zip code in central table Tasting Room Master (TRM). At least one Will Call shipping code is setup at the time each Point of Sale system goes live, the code is user defined and usually either WC (will call), PU (pickup) or WCPU (will call pickup).

Will call shipping codes are defined as type Will Call, designated by the type button. This is the flag that triggers local pickup sales tax calculations. At the bottom of the screen the override shipping location is used to override the physical inventory location that ordinarily pulls from the Transaction code (TTX). For example a Ship Sale Club Shipment transaction code is used for all wine club runs, the orders that are shipped are removed from WT, warehouse tax-paid, location while will calls will be removed from the tasting room, TR. Having an override shipping location on the will call shipping code allows the system to ALWAYS remove the will call order inventory from the TR location, rather then relying on clerks to remember to change the location from WT to TR before marking a will call as picked up. This is allows for better accuracy and is a time saving measure for tasting room staff.

Shipping codes flagged as type Will Call cannot have BSZ or PKG based charges. They can however have a base charge if a processing fee for eCommerce placed will call pickup orders is required.
