Customer Maintenance (Page 3)

The birth date field should be a field setup to use a pop up warning box if left blank. This field is used for compliance reporting and in the live compliance check in AMS if the feature is turned on.

Source code can be used for tracking the source of the customer, rather then what type of customer they are (Customer type code on page 2 of the customer record). Examples would be Internet, Event, Tasting Room. This would always be the initial source for that customer regardless of what happens to their account in the future.

Club shipping code uses the same shipping code table, Maintain Shipping Charges (MSC), that the shipping code found on page 2 of the customer record did. However this code determines the customers default shipping code for their wine club shipments, rather than for no club shipments as the prior code did. This allows your club members to have a club shiping code of Will Call or Pickup for club orders and a ground shipping method for their regular default. Having customers setup in this manner will allow you to convert their will call orders to ship out if they have not picked them up in your allotted number of days.

Mail List codes will also default from the template selected in the first few steps outlined above.

User defined codes are codes defined by each company that can be used for any additional reporting fields that become necessary. Each customer can have four user defined codes on their customer record at one time.

The OK to Mail, Email and Phone fields determine whether or not a customer has approved themselves to receive each method of communication. The default is to flag each customer with a Y or yes they are Ok to contact by each method. If a customer requests to be removed from the mail, email or phone list each flag needs to be changed accordingly to a N or no. These can also be updated en Mass if you have the customer information (must include customer number) for opt outs of an email campaign from vertical response, constant contact, cellarpass, etc.

Once each field is filled in on the customer record, select the Wine Club button or F3 on your keyboard to continue to the wine club page of the customer record. If the customer has not joined the wine club you are now finished adding them into the sytem and can hit enter (three times) to finalize their customer record.
