Introduction: Every now and then a clerk will accidentally add an order to Occasionally, clerks inadvertently create orders under the wrong customer account, in this case, it is necessary to merge an order. Also, duplicate customers can be added to . Occasionally, clerks create duplicate customers in Customer Management (CRM) if the user does not , particularly when they do not first search the system for an already existing customer or if record. Also, duplicate customers may result when an existing customer goes online and creates a new account online if using the AMS web cart. In this case, if necessary to combine the duplicate customers the customer accounts can be merged. Both merging a customer and an order is done through the same menu, PSCUM.MER. When this menu is entered the default option is to merge a customer, if that is the intention enter the customer information, if the intention is to merge an order, select Use Order to enter the order informationusing a different primary email address. When these situations occur, the system supports merging an order from one customer to a different one, or merging duplicate customer accounts altogether. Merging a Customer:Customer RecordsWhen launched, the interface defaults to a customer-to-customer merge. Note the program's process description and its precautionary instructions. The system displays instructions that appear in red: Enter from and to customers. (See next section to merge orders from one customer to another.)
Enter the customer number of the customer record you intend to delete in into the merge Merge customer field , enter and the customer number of the customer record you intend to keep in into the To Customer customer field. When the system merges this customer information, the completes the merge, customer information on in the To customer record will survive and remain , while all of the information on from the Merge Customer customer will no longer be availablebe discarded. When using this menu, I suggest taking a screenshot of the customer snap shot of both customers that way if you do make a mistake you will have the the merge function, we highly recommend taking screenshots of how both customer records appear in the CRM Customer Summary or Partial Customer Screen. When the customer numbers are entered in the Merge and To fields, there will be a summary displayed for review before completing the merge.Image Removed Select Merge Now if everything looks correct or select Do Not Merge if the summary displayed is not correct. If Merge Now is chosen, they system will request verification one more time that this is really what is intended. The summary will show how many orders have been merged to the new customer but do note that all contacts will be merged as wellshould you need to refer back to it later. After entering customer numbers, press the enter key to continue. The system displays a summary for the FROM and TO customers for verification. Image Added Note the system prompt and follow on-screen instructions: Press F1 to merge, F7 to cancel. Select Do Not Merge to cancel the process or Merge Now to continue. The system prompts a second time to confirm the merge is truly intended. Upon completion, the system confirms processing and displays a summary of what data was merged. Data includes Orders, Contacts, Ship-To's, Wine Clubs, Events, Allocations, etc. In the example below, Customer 2835 was merged to Customer 2021 and one order processed (merged) with it. The system displays the FROM customer summary information and a summary of all its related orders . It is not merging all the customer information or all of the orders. The only thing being merged when using the order merge function is the order in the merge order field. The summary for the order being merged is summarized by for reference and verification only. When merging an order, the program will only merge the single order specified in the Merge order whose details appears as "This order date" and "This Order order amount." | If the system is displaying the order intended to merge, select Merge Now otherwise select Do Not Merge.
