Cancelling a Wine Club Membership

To cancel a wine club membership the wine club on the customer's account must have an end date and if necessary the price type and customer type should be changed appropriately.  For data analysis it is also recommended that the appropriate code is selected for the members termination reason.

When a club member quits go into their customer record, PSCUM.CRM or if the clerk permission allows the customer record can be accessed through the cash register.

If Dynamic pricing is set up in AMS, it is only necessary to put an end date on the customer record because the system will change the customer type and price type to the default settings for your company.  See Dynamic Pricing for Retail and Wine Club Customers for more information.  If your company is not set up for dyanamic pricing, the AMS user will have to manually change the fields. 

Once in the customer record, select Edit this customer:

 

If using Dynamic pricing, go straight to the wine club page by selecting Maintain Wine Clubs

On Page 2 of the customer record change the Price type and customer type field to the appropriate code.  If there are any other fields that are being used to designate the customer as a wine club member, the user will need to change those too.

On Page 3 of the customer record, typically the club shipping is changed to NA since it is a required field, check with your company for the appropriate code to use for ex-club members.

Double click on the wine club in the wine club grid or select the Wine club button at the bottom of the page to put an end date on the club membership.  If tracking termination reasons on the club record, fill in the appropriate code in the termination reasons field. 

Some clients do not use this field but the benefit of using this field is that the termination reason stays with the club history.  So if the customer has had multiple clubs, you have the ability to see the termination reason for each club.  Also, this gives the user the ability to search for the termination reasons in Customer Management (CRM)]

Once the changes are saved check the customer snapshot to review the changes:
