Built in to the allocations module is a feature that will use sales history of a label or part to build area allocations for a new part. This can be used to build allocations for a new release from a prior vintage of the same part or parts with the same label code. The system will collect sales from the date range and part(s) or label(s) specified by the user and calculate the projected allocations. The calculation is based on the percentage of sales for each area to total sales, that percentage is multiplied by the allocation quantity to get the projected allocations for each area. In the case below, the sales history of 2 parts were used to build the allocation projections. From there, the allocations can be adjusted if necessary and the system will total up the adjustments so that the user can see if the adjustments equal the allocation quantity.
Image Added If using the same label codes for the different vintages of a particular wine, building a part from Labels will look at the sales on all of the vintages of the wine to build allocations. In this case, BCS7 is the label code for all of Byron's Cabernet Sauvignon 750ml, so by using labels to build the allocations the system will look at the data for any vintage of Byron's Cabernet 750ml. Image Added This menu option will pull up every area code in the ALC table. In order to remove unwanted allocation codes, select To Alloc Code List. From the screen above, hit Cancel to enable the To Alloc Code Lst and delete the allocation codes that will not be used from the screen below. If it is necessary to remove several of the codes, select Clear Codes and type in the codes to be used.
Image Added Once allocations have been built, select Accept Changes and the allocations for that part will now be part of the original allotment for the area. This menu option is only available for area allocations, not customer allocations.
